Shannon Jones

Shannon has been around horses since the day she was born. Her parents had a small horse farm in Woodbury, MN and then later moved to Stillwater, MN. She started training and showing her own horses at WSCA game shows when she was 12 years old. She quickly realized how much she enjoyed training, and how she was able to reproduce the same results on different horses with a variety of personalities. That same year her family purchased a young horse, that sparked her interest in starting colts. At 18 years old, she started working at a local breeding facility where she learned more about colt starting and preparing horses for the western pleasure show pen.

Over the last fifteen years, Shannon has started numerous colts and trained horses professionally for western pleasure and the all around events. She has taken horses and her clients to futurity wins, congress championships, reserve championships, circuit championships and multiple top ten finishes at some of the country’s top shows. She has competed on the breed circuits for Quarter Horse, Paint, Pinto, POA and Appaloosa. Her current hobby is competing on her personal horse in ranch and reining events. Over the years she has enjoyed showing her personal horses in barrel racing, trail competitions, western pleasure, hunter under saddle and ranch versatility. She has worked with many different trainers during her career from all disciplines. She enjoys continuing her education for training and instructing by attending clinics and seminars because she loves teaching riders just as much as training horses. Being able to see the progress riders make and the joy horses can bring is very rewarding.
